An amazing list of top musicians and comedians have either been born, lived or performed in King’s Heath.

Both Toyah Willcox and Martin Barre (lead guitarist with Jethro Tull) were born in King’s Heath.

Members of Editors, Ocean Colour Scene, Prodigy, Stereophonics and Fuzzbox as well as Luke Kelly (lead singer of The Dubliners),soul singers Laura Mvula and Ruby Turner and folk legends Ian and Lorna Campbell have all lived in King’s Heath. And TV comedian Janice Connolly and rock star Trevor Burton still do.

Both UB40 and Frank Skinner started off their careers at the Hare and Hounds.

And it's not only musicians and comedians who have King's Heath connections.

Wimbledon Tennis Champion Ann Jones was born and raised in King's Heath, cyclist Tommy Godwin who won two Bronze Medals in the 1948 Olympic games lived and owned a cycle shop in Silver Street for many years, the Cluedo game inventor Anthony Pratt came from King's Heath and Lord of the Rings author JRR Tolkien lived in King's Heath!
