Toyah Interviewed in the Mail

20120717_BirminghamMailSmall01Leading Birmingham Mail journalist Jasbir Authi recently covered King's Heath's Walk of Fame inaugural concert at the Hare and Hounds pub in the famous Birmingham suburb writing, "PUNK legend Toyah Willcox delighted fans as she became the first star to grace a walk of fame celebrating a Birmingham suburb’s rich musical heritage."

The article summarises Toyah's singing career before discussing specific details of her roots and origins as she grew up in King's Heath and how her family developed from her grandfather's business. The reasons behind the 'intimate show' at the Hare and Hounds pub on the corner of York Road are then developed as the article moves on to highlight the idea behind the King's Heath Walk of Fame, and the movers and shakers that made this happen.

Toyah Live in King's Heath

Toyah's intimate gig at the Hare and Hounds pub on Monday 16th July 2012, to celebrate her induction as the first of many celebrities onto the King's Heath Walk of Fame was videoed.

Toyah told the audience that this was the first time she had ever performed in King's Heath and her parents had banned her from going near the Hare & Hounds when she was growing up on Grove Road.

Here is a taster of what everyone who was lucky enough to actually be there experienced on the night as Toyah sings 'Blue Meanings' from the album 'The Blue Meaning':
