Trevor Burton Interview

Trevor was interviewed by Adrian Goldberg on BBC Radio WM on Thursday 21st March 2013, just as it was announced by the organisers of the Kings's Heath Walk of Fame that he'd been chosen to be the next to receive a star.

Trevor candidly discusses his whole career in music. He descibes how he taught himself to play guitar at the age of 7, formed his first band "The Everglades" when he was 13 and turned professional at the age of only 15 when he joined "Danny King and the Mayfair Set".

He goes on to describe how The Move were formed, why he quit The  Move when they were No.1 in the pop charts and touring America coast to coast with "The Steve Gibbons Band" supporting "The Who" playing to audiences of up to 80,000.

He also reveals how he once shared a flat in London with Noel Redding of the Jimi Hendix Experience, playing with Raymond Froggatt and how he has only done 4 days of paid work other than as a musician!.

We won't spoil the rest of the interview for you, but it's really worth a listen just to understand the complexities and genius of such a talented guitarist  grappling with stardom whilst trying to maintain his musical integrity.

Listening will help you realise how much Trevor deserves his star on the Walk of Fame. This will be presented to him on Monday 3rd. June 2013 at the Hare & Hounds on King's Heath High Street with an Awards Ceremony at 4 p.m. followed by an evening concert at 7.30 p.m. with a double bill consisting of the current line-up of "The Move" playing all their 1960's hits plus "The Trevor Burton Band" playing the rockier blues music he really loves. Tickets cost just £7 - a real bargain!
